What is for you a warrior of the light?

The term “warrior of the light” in of itself seems oxymoronic to me, perhaps due to my understanding of “light”. My understanding of light, in part, is that it is a state of being/ understanding/wisdom in which there is the absence of the ego, the heart of all conflict. Warrior, in my mind at least, is one who engages habitually in conflict or battle. Now with all the hype of honor, loyalty, a “cause”, in some instances we might attempt to characterize a warrior as being somehow a good thing if the purpose is judged ‘right enough’-- yet it is my sense that battling/fighting/”struggling against” is absent in and counter to the light, and that to do battle on behalf of such a divine state of being is inconsistent with the state. In fact, in my thought, to do so may be taken as evidence that the warrior is filled with the very ego that is counter to this 'cause', an ego that propels him to fight for/in the name of an necessarily ego-less cause or state of being. It may appear excessively philosophical, but you see my dilemma here…
That said, however, the meaning of your question doesn’t go unheeded. So without dwelling on the nuance of words, I offer my thoughts as to what I think of as a champion of light – or promoter of light.
Champions of light are those who honor the sacredness of connection to one another and to the mystery of life and living. A promoter of light neither mandates others nor recuses herself, but lives in such a way as to illustrate the light, and strives toward continuous illumination of the divine within us—acting on behalf of self and others to demonstrate sense/sensation of it. Being a purveyor of wisdom, the champion is ever curious and calmly aware, endeavors to discover and be true to purpose of love, and to be intentional and diligent in facilitating the well-being of self and others through love. A champion holds the space for others, internalizes her connection with others, is tireless in seeking common ground with and among the existence of other living beings/entities, and remembers that past, present, and future are largely One. She endeavors to compassion, mercy, and love above all.

Because I consider darkness the absence of light, I see a warrior of light as a promoter and carrier of light. He is a person who makes a positive difference in the lives of others both by his/her lifestyle and by his message. The light one brings is by his/her presence and is fueled by the values and character one possesses.
