It has been suggested that it might make sense to allow users to blick other users from using their shoutbox.

I've complained over and over about these same issues, and wanting to be able to BLOCK people jumping in MY SHOUTBOX, and making rude and unwanted statements, and I don't desire to even converse with these people! An unknown and neophyte bad word list, and zero notification of these words or a chance to change or correct in anyway! Then When WE start having fun using Smileys THEY wast no time BLOCKING these harmless Smileys , and make stupid statements that their security is at risk, and EMC SMILEY is part of one of the larger and SAFEST company's on the Internet, and FAR Safer that Blurtit!
So as I and others see it Blurtit Find it MORE important to BLOCK our having Harmless Fun, for they do that the next day!!! Than addressing The same complaints reported to them by many different people on Debates and questions!
OVER and OVER We are going to do that soon! How long did it take to stop our fun and fellowship?

One thing is very wrong we only want to block certain people not every one but our friends! For their are times when we only want a brief shout and that's all!

Its a little frustrating, that you can only choose friends or all who can use your shout box. But on the other hand, it may increase your friends on Blurtit. As if someone really wants to talk to you, he or she has to be your friend if you limit your shout box to friends only.

Adad I've been helping people on how to or how to get there every sense I been on blurtit! Now the NEW people will have to have a BIGGER knowledge of the sight before I can help them, and I use blurtit to get my mind of my experiments and relax! So because I like READING And Scoring Debates to relax you've taken that away! And I'm maxed on blurtit so I'm not doing it for points!
Your input is delusional in thinking we are solving WORLD PROBLEMS for we are not! I'm not very happy over that at all!

If the majority is a FEW loud mouths then you did! I being of the highest rated was NOT in this majority! Nor have I ever hear of it!
I'm using Blurtit to relax and JUST UNCOVERED A FLUX FORCE FIELD and have the supplies on the way Is I'm not a neophyte, SIR!
And you have taken away 60% of my Relaxation on Blurtit! That is ------ I'll quite!

Why do we want HIM BLOCKED?
Logic:
An apex is a hole, kind of like me. Another name for a donkey is an "ass". A small excavation made with a shovel is called a "hole". Put these words together and you have a quick description of Boris.
Sometimes it boils over and woe to the poor person who happens to be nearby when it does. You must have wondered what the heck you did to have some idiot go after you like that - you did nothing, I'm the idiot.
