I like the ability to monitor word count in shouts and customize the font. Unfortunately, I was typing merrily along thinking I had 200 words with which to work, then when I submitted my shout, it was rejected as too long. Only 100 words are allowed. Now I know, but I think it would be helpful to modify it to reflect the actual number of word allowed.

Will get it fixed first thing on Monday (gmt) sorry this should have been tested before it went live. There also seems to be a problem with external links.. We will have it running as advertised very soon.

Speaking of new features, just wanted to leave my feedback about the new notifications-by-email option. I think it's great! And I really like that now the notification tells you not only that you have a new shout, but also who left it :)

I don't know about everyone else, but my e-mail is being cloggged with e-mails from Blurtit since the addition of Shout Box entries. When I sign in the system goes to my profile page automatically. As long as I'm on that page, I check my Shout Box so by the time I get the e-mail, I've already seen the Shout.
What I would like to see is when I get a rating for mjy response, I don't need to know who rated it. I'm just curious to know which response got a rating.

If you wish to stop receiving emails for shouts or any other kinds of notifications please go to My Profile
Scroll down to the Notify Me section, the second to last option is "Notify me when my Shout Box receives a new Comment" you can change the frequency of emails by choosing the Daily summary option or choose Never if you want to stop receiving them altogether.
Thanks for the suggestion regarding ratings, this was not added to the notifications because we thought that blurters may get inundated with emails especially if they answered the featured questions on the homepage. Perhaps its something we should consider showing on the profile pages instead.
