I've related quite a large number of questions to my group "Making Green Energy/Energy Efficiency".
It would be very useful to be able to order these questions under a category or heading, and/or to be able to manually re-order them on the group moderator's page.
It would also be very useful to be able to put an internal link into group discussion thread postings. At the moment you can only put the text of the question, so a person has to paste that into a search box or look through the long list of related questions.
By not closing the loop on items like these, I feel Blurtit creates a disincentive to make use of past answers, improve past answers, rate past answers, and relate groups of past answers together.

I've had a problem 'finding' questions that I want to related to my group.
The question search in the group-moderation page is a keyword search. OK.
But the search is hitting questions that match only one of the keywords.
They are served up serially rather than from the highest number of matched keywords, in descending sequence.
You only get 5 questions returned in the search, and no ability to scroll on.
So if I type in either the whole text of the question I'm looking to link, which is "Is it possible to run a car on water?", or if I just type in the keywords "possible run car water", either way don't get returned that actual question.
There must be bucket loads of juicy questions effectively lost to the universe because of this.
Once you've let me find these questions and link them, I'm going to reall really really need that ordering capability that I asked for in post 1 to this thread!
Thank you Santa.

I just tried keying that question into the ordinary search for a question facility and the same thing happened - the search is throwing up just about anything at all that has ever been asked about cars, in a sequential fashion.
I typed in the full text of the question: Is it possible to run a car on water?
You'd think I would be returned at the top of the list:
How to run my car on water?
Is it possible to run a car on water?
Which are both Blurtit Q&As - but, no. They must be miles down the list...
I think the search function needs to be more complex, counting the number of matches to the given keywords, and sorting the hits by the number of matches.
To be completely Francis with you, the search as it stands is no use to man or beast.
Hope this cheered you up some.

Hi Zwanger, thanks for all your suggestions and your frank analysis of the search function : )
I am aware that the search is not quite fit for purpose and am looking into possible methods of improving it, unfortunately getting it right may take some time but rest assured it is being looked into. In the meantime while slightly fiddly I can recommend what might be an easier way of finding related questions for your groups. If you open a new browser window go to google and type Keyword (the keyword/keywords you would like to find questions about) then site:www.blurtit.com
this will return pages only from blurtit, you can then copy and paste the last part of the url (ie q1234.html) and paste them into the add new q&a box.
All your points regarding the group pages are really helpful, the groups section is due for an overhaul so i am going to make a new thread to try and gather as many suggestions for changes as possible.
Thanks again, sorry it takes me so long to respond!

I am frustrated with seeing the Home Economics category in Education flooded with questions on financial Economics.
I eventually found related questions in other areas, including DIY, instead.
