The search engine is not very effective right now. I have entered one-word searches that retrn results that are unrelated to the word or only very, very distantly related.
Also, sometimes I know a recent question was posted with a key word (topic) that has dropped off the "needs answering list", but when I search for it, I have to wade through pages and pages, and sometimes I never find it. Maybe how questions are categorized according to key words should be examined. Maybe there should be more than one key word or phrase. This has also happened when I search for a debate to add it to my favorites on my home page, even when I type in the full name of the debate as it was posted.

I think users should be able to type a username into the search engine and have the results return all contributions in Q&A and debate returned. This does not currently happen.

I think users should be able to search by username for just usernames, and be able to go to their homepage via search engine.

Yes, amore, you are right. We have also known that our search function by keywords is not great and are going to improve it, but which may take time. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks- maybe these instructions should be added to the Help page so all users can be aware of how to search for someone else.
Are there any plans to 1)make a directory of users and 2) introduce a specific search function within the site(i.e., "search users", without having to user a special link?)

You are right, amore, we need to update our help section to make it more helpful.
About directory of users or user search function, we need to think or give the options to users who do not want their name displaying on the list. It may take time, but definitely worth thinking about it. Thanks for the suggestion!
