I would love to hear all your suggestions on how we can improve groups.

Hi John!
(1) It would be very handy to be able to opt in to receiving an email whenever anyone posts to a group you are either moderating, or a member of. Probably you would want to opt in on a group basis - some people belong to many groups.
(2) The New Content block - I'm not sure what it's purpose is but it's good to have it. There just isn't a delete facility!
(3)I mentioned ordering related questions before, plus being able to insert a heading. This would also be useful for external links.
(4) Is it possible to get reverse chronological order in posts to a discussion thread? If so it might be useful to have this as an option.... Maybe where a thread gets quite long but you're not ready to delete a lot of it.
(5) Delete function on the guest pad as mentioned before.
(6) more than one photo in the photogallery so that you can change it weekabout or so
That's all for now I think.

This one is a bit of a bug:
I've had the dithers about what to call my group and changed the name twice I think.
All related questions changed the name of the related group automatically - cool.
A related group did not automatically change the name when I changed it the second time after the relationship had been established between the groups. (Check Global Warming group)
When Logic was trying to relate my group to his group, the selection box presented the name of my group out of sequence - actually presented the new name in the alphabetical spot for the old name. So Logic had trouble finding it.

When maintaining External Links you have to save each link one at a time. It would be useful to save the whole panel of links in one hit.
I'm in the country on a dial-up line so every 'send' takes a long time. It makes the difference between a quick job and spending hours on the computer!

My previous post applies to anything where you have line by line saves or deletes.
Perhaps you could have a tick box against each entry (in external links, related debates, related questions, threads..) to tick for deletion then have one save?

Looking for debates to relate is a killer.... Would it be possible to present debate categories first - then present the debates under that category - then return to present debate categories.
After selection, need to return to the previous function (select a debate to relate in the chosen category) rather than return to square one (the debate moderation page).

Hey John that multi-delete thing would also be good to apply to shoutboxes. I like the little green tick and the red cross, they are good visuals, but the line by line delete is a mega-time-waster.

Just a warm and fuzzy this time: Groups are Great. It's my main interest in the Blurtit site. The thing is that people join Blurtit when they are interested in sharing information. For example: Ranching and Cowboys. I know people locally who could answer some of my questions, but I have to pull teeth to get them to do it. I have to take time out to go and see them, take them scones cream and jam, or free eggs and garden produce, schmooze them awhile, praise their tomatoes, and then maybe, just maybe .... On Blurtit, people are here because they know a thing or two and are interested in passing it on. And it's no further away than my computer.
Top job mates, I'd shout yiz a beer if I could.

I would like to be able to go back and edit a posting just like I can when I answer a question or respond to a debate. The same goes for Shouts.
