We've all heard of comfort food! Well, there is also something called "Comfort Movies"...when you just want to sit in front of the tv and enjoy watching a movie you've maybe seen half-dozen times before but maybe the movie brings back some fond memories...one that comes to mind for me is, "Vacations" with Chevy Chase...the Griswalds family fun vaction...What are some of your favorite comfort movies??

"Some Like it Hot" is one of mine. I could watch it over and over and over again,

It's rather amusing when I am watching a movie I've seen over and over again; I will recite various parts of the movie along with the actors. Or...when I already know what is going to happen, something in my brain tells me, maybe, just maybe it will turn out different THIS TIME! Lol

Shoot. I wasn't going to log on until later because I have chores to do... But this is such a great thread, I couldn't resist. :) thanks Kid. When I watch mine depend largely on mood. Here are some old fav's--mostly there's something that sopeaks to my lkife about them, with maybe the exception of Evil Alien Conquerors!! (an unheard of , low budget, c rating movie): Sound of Music, Cool Hand Luke, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Its a Wonderful LIfe, Forrest Gump, Evil Alien Conquerors (there's a story behind that one as you might imagine), Fried Green Tomatoes, The Color Purple, No Way Out, Dances With Wolves.

No Way Out is great. It was on yesterday. I also like to watch Dances with Woves whenever I can. As long as you confessed to Evil Alien Conquerors, I love Starman, Enemy Mine and the Last Starfighter. I'm also crazy about the Afican Queen, Adam's Rib and Desk Set.

Just remembered an old one I really like with Bob Hope and I think Paulette Goddard; "Ghostbreakers". Also like Home Alone, Dennis the Menace, The Odd Couple, African Queen, Sound of Music, Dead Ringer with Bette Davis, oh and of course my old favorite......Wizard of OZ!

Quite a variety. We have to hear from Nanny. She likes old movies too.

It just came to me. I think Judy Holliday was one of the best comediennes of her time. Bells are Ringing, Born Yesterdy, The Solid Gold Cadillac, It Should Happen to You, and Pffft. Some of the best. I never miss 'em.

You have one of my favorites, robbie: Some Like It Hot. I don't know how many times I've seen it. Love it! "We was witchoo boss, at Rigaletta's." Others in no particular order: The Women, Galaxy Quest, The Shop Around the Corner, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Apartment, It's a Wonderful Life, Crossing Delancy, Duck Soup, Raising Arizona, Fargo, Night of the Hunter, The General, Steamboat Bill, jr., Girl Shy, Pennies from Heaven (1981), Midnight Run, Psycho, Paper Moon. I could go on, but you get the idea.

In Born Yesterday Judy Holliday appeared with Broderick Crawford and the oh-so-dreamy William Holden. That reminds me: Sunset Boulevard, All About Eve, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, It's a Gift, His Girl Friday, It Happened One Night, Holiday (Cary Grant), Fantasia, Meet Me In St. Louis, Singin' In the Rain.

I remember liking Starman, too. I don't think I've seen it since its original release. Love Jeff Bridges.
