Mr. Brookes (theater) - Kevin Costner- really enjoyed it, but sure has some dark humor.
Angel's Fall - so non-meorable I couldn't even tell you the actress. The best part of the movie was looking at hte unknown incredibly handsome male co-star.
Two Weeks (rented) - Sally Field - Enjoyed, had it's light moments, but plot's a little somber.
Leaving Her (rented) - sad, and not all that great.
Premonition (rented) Sandra Bullock - absolutely went nowhere. What a disappointment.

I must be really tired. The movie was Away from Her, not 'leaving her' (see above). The story is about about a couple who has to face admitting the wife to a home after early onset Alzheimers makes it difficult to do anything else.
Movie starts slow, has poignant moments, but falls flat.

Queen - Yes, I know she received the Best Actress nomination for this, but the movie is a big poof of air. Nothing substantial about it, in my opinion. The movie is suffering from identity crisis-- it doesn't know if it wants to be a documentary or pure enetertainment. It falls flat on both accounts, in my opinion. If it was meant as a 1.5 hour break from laundry, I guess it was OK.

I totally agree on Premonition - sheesh - what a mess!
Also agree on The Queen. Helen Mirren was good, but I wound up thinking "So what?"
My most recent in theatre was 3:10 to Yuma. Really good, highly recommend.
At home I'm in the middle of a bunch of silent movies, mostly Buster Keaton and Fatty Arbuckle. Unfortunately, I've been delayed in watching them because my DVD player was being repaired.

Kelsey Grammer is the star--previously best known as Dr. Fasier Crane... He is a personal favorite actor of mine, although he's been pigeon-holed into some pretty specific character roles, I think. HIs new series is called "Back to You", which follows two TV anchors' lives and antics... I haven't seen it yet. Have you?

Here's a recommendation for everybody. I went to the movies today and saw "Lars and the Real Girl". I really enjoyed it a lot.

Oh yes, Invasion of the Body Snatchers is good. When the 1978 version came out I put "pods" in the potted plants at the office where I was working. Freaked a couple of people out.

You have not experienced the world of advertising till you venture back to the wild sixties & view 'Putney Swope', as he envigorates the television commericals into the avant garde. Be advised Sonny Williams may be in the House and be prepared for some expletives not deleted! Anyone for an old B & W, tonight?

I watched the Addams Family movie this morning. It was okay, but the actual series is much better. And I watched the Young Frankenstein for the first time. That was good.

I agree, the TV series Addams Family was much better than the movie. Young Frankenstein is one of my old favorites.
