Catatonia is a symptom of various psychiatric problems. It has also gained mention in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual that pertains to mental disorders. It is not a disorder of any kind by itself but is a symptom or indicator of other underlying psychiatric problems. There is a disorder that does have Catatonia as part of its name "catatonic Schizophrenia". ...more
