My Cat Has Began Urinating On The Carpet Since My Daughter Has Been Moving Around The House. Could My Daughter Be The Cause Of Her Doing This? Is She Marking Her Territory? Please Help Me.

Me and my 10 month old daughter have just moved into my parents house about a month ago. Within the past week my cat has started using the bathroom on the carpets. We've noticed that she is scared of my daughter and can't relax in her normal areas of the house when my daughter is around.

Don't cats hate it when one isn't putting enough attention into them? Maybe this might be happening because you are putting too much attention into the baby and not the cat. Maybe if you give equal attention to both the cat and the baby, the cat would stop urinating on your carpet.

Did your daughter maybe hurt the kitty once? It's possible that she is marking her territory, but at the same time, is the litter box being kept clean. Sometimes if you get a new box, they go back to going in the box. Does your daughter seem to stress her out?, get them to spend a little more time together, and get the cat use to her moving around her(the cat) all the time. Hope this helps, good luck.
