No one has seen death to tell where one would reach after death. However, various religion states that if you are a good person you have a ticket to heaven but at the same time there is no precise definition about heaven. Some religion also states that if are bad you go to hell.
Hence it is really difficult to say what life after death is whether you will really be on a bed or roses or your body lies in the coffin till it is completely gone. Hence, your question could sound a little confusing to answer.

I HAVE BEEN IN A COMA FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME...THO I WAS ABLE TO HEAR EVERYTHING GOING ON INCL. THE T.V. I COULD NOT RESPOND NOR MOVE. I THINK THAT ABOUT AS CLOSE TO DEATH AS ONE CAN GET W/OUT ACTUALLY ENCOUNTERING DEATH.
This is a very interesting question to answer. First of all I would like to tell you some very very special things about us (human being) We are the most complicated machine... In our mind there is always that random segment of code running....
We human beings are a mixture of two things, the soul and the body, with soul and without body the human is incomplete. We become complete after the completion and the proper combination of these two things.
Body without soul is nothing, and soul without body is nothing. We have hereafter, the non-materialistic world, where the impact of the body is 0.0000000000% in the hereafter....
When the person dies, the soul will be pulled to the sky , and the body is buried in the ground, because we are basically formed from sand, dust.... We are made up of dust and water.... we all know this.
Where we go after death: our body, as I mentioned, is buried in the dust, and the soul is pulled up, and depending on the character we have, if we have done good deeds, all through the life, we will definitely be blessed by the Almighty GOD I.E only and only Allah, and if we have a bad character and we are engaged in the bad deeds all through our life, we will enter in to hell......

In a blink of an eye your soul is with the one and only GOD in paradise, until the return of Jesus where your soul and body will again meet but this time you'll be perfect as it was meant to be in the beginning, their you will live on this earth (the new Heaven) for eternity! Don't get confused by complicated answers it's really just this simple receive Jesus into your life as Lord and Savior and live for him the best you can and your eternal reward awaits!
