Does Belfast Have An Art Gallery?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Belfast the capital of Northern Ireland is  part of the United Kingdom and the second largest city on the island of Ireland after Dublin the capital city of the Republic of Ireland; it is located in a hilly area at the mouth of the River Lagan.

Belfast does house an art gallery the Ormeau Baths gallery(OBG) situated on 18a Ormeau Avenue and managed by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Actually the art gallery is mired in controversy as none of the artists are supporting the take over of the gallery by the Arts Council and a local group of artists has established a mobile venue while at the same time continuing their efforts to ensure that their grievencies are redressed.

There is another Print Workshop and gallery situated at 30-42 Waring Street which makes available to the artists the facility to print their works following completion. The locals are supporting the need for another art gallery.
