Many tourists visiting Paris wish to visit the Louvre. Certainly, if only as an architectural wonder, it is a site to behold. It is the largest museum in the world, and a centrepiece of the city. Aside from this it also has one of the most impressive collections of any gallery in existence, listing, amongst others, Rembrandts, van Eycks, Delacroixs and Raphaels in its inventory ~ plus, of course, the world famous Mona Lisa.

Another hugely impressive collection can be found in Artcurial, a 19th Century building on Avenue Matignon. Here one can find works by artists as renowned as Magritte and Picasso, as well as many items of jewellery for sale. This may well be a better choice for visitors with little time, as you can avoid the vast queues which the Louvre often attracts.
