Can You Solve R+1-3t>t-20 And Show All Steps?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    You didn't indicate which variable we're solving for, so I'll show you solutions for both R and t;

    First we'll solve for R
    R + 1 - 3t > t - 20
    add 3t to both sides;
    R + 1 > 4t - 20
    subtract 1 from both sides;
    R > 4t - 21

    Or we can solve for t
    R + 1 - 3t > t - 20
    add 3t to both sides;
    R + 1 > 4t - 20
    add 20 to both sides;
    R + 21 > 4t
    flip the equation around and divide by 4;
    t < R + 21
             4

    Of course, there's no need to "flip the equation around" except to put it in a form where the variable of interest is on the left. It means the same either way.
