What Was The Recent Tiff Between Siemens And The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

In the reflection of the various power crisis and the curse of load-shedding that has been looming over the city of Karachi throughout the course of the sweltering summer, the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation has held Siemens responsible for exacerbating the situation of load-shedding for the Karachi public by violating the agreement that Siemens and K.E.S.C had signed between themselves in the year 2005 in November.  According to sources, Siemens had no authentic track record of managing electricity distribution on a large scale.  In addition to that, the Siemens endeavours had failed in restoring the ruined reputation of K.E.S.C that it tried to do through a cost-effective action plan in relation to the collapse of the power distribution system of K.E.S.C and the saturation point that the K.E.S.C had reached in terms of power generation.  This further resulted in increase of line losses and amplification of complaints about the metering system, elucidating the poor management system of the K.E.S.C and failure of Siemens in developing a contingency plan.
