How Far Is The Earth Across?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The earth has a diameter at the equator of twelve thousand seven hundred and fifty six kilometres, in miles this works out to around seven thousand nine hundred and twenty six. The circumference of the earth or the length of the equator is forty thousand and seventy five kilometres or twenty four thousand nine hundred miles long.
The moon on the other hand has a diameter of around three thousand four hundred and seventy five kilometres or two thousand four hundred and seventy five kilometres. The earth is our home world. It is the third planet from the sun and is the only planet that supports life in the Solar system and perhaps in the Universe. The combinations of factors that have led to life existing on earth are believed by many to be more than sheer coincidence.
