    Yes that is the catch you have to carry it as income and file it on your taxes,what a bunch of crock,you look at it this way they are giving you nothing....good luck

    The stimulus check amount does NOT have to be added to your 2008 income when doing your taxes. Look on line 42 on Federal tax return and it will tell you the pages to read in the tax book about the stimulus check.

    No!!! Here is the statement directly from http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=179211,00.html :
    What is it? It's an economic stimulus payment that more than 124 million households will receive. It's not taxable, and it won't reduce your 2007 or 2008 refund or increase the amount you owe when you file your 2008 return. Payments started in May and will continue through the end of 2008.
