Your dog might be having hot spot. These are bacterial infection caused by the scratching and licking of the areas where itching takes place. Insect bite, allergic reaction due to many reasons including food allergy, poor grooming and parasitic infections are major causes of itching. Antibiotics along with removal of cause of itching is recommended. So, take your dog to vet.
