Comfort is positioned forty five miles northwest of San Antonio and around seventy two miles west of Austin. According to the census conducted in the year 2000 the total population of this region was 2,385 and the population density was estimated at 283.6 per square kilometre. The total are of this region is 8.3 square kilometres.
There were around 799 households in this region, out of which 38% had children below the age of 18 living with them. Around the 1800s Comfort was a society of Freethinkers and Abolitionist. The local school is known as Comfort Independent School.
