Why Cant I Play Videos On My Psp?

Most likely you are not using files that have been specifically formatted for the PSP, or you are not putting them in the right folder if you are using proper files.

The easiest and most consistently effective way to convert videos for the PSP is with a free utility called PSP Video 9. If you do a google search for it, you will easily find it. Then you just have to take the time to learn how to use it properly, and to that end there is a whole forum system to explain any questions you have. Once you have the proper files converted to the format the PSP uses (a form of .mp4), then you need to make sure you have them in the right folder.

Now, if the files were converted with an older form of PSP Video 9, or other converter, they will be formatted with a file name like M4V*****.mp4 (where the *'s are numbers). If they are this sort of files, they must go into the folder called (from the root of the memory stick): /MP_ROOT/100MNV01  ... This is the folder originally required for videos to be played back on the PSP, and STILL must be used for any files that are named as I explained.

However, if you use a more current version of PSP Video 9 or other fairly current PSP video converter, the file name will remain the same as the originating file, but will gain the .mp4 file extension. These files will NOT play from the 100MNV01 folder, and must be placed in the folder called /VIDEOS to play. Also, remember that if you want to be able to see an icon with the video, you need to include that file as well (PSP Video 9 will automatically generated an image from a spot a few seconds into the video file)...

I hope that helps a little, and you have a great day!
