Who Is Anne Fine?

Born in 1947, Anne Fine is a British author. In 2001, she became the second Children's Laureate in place of Quentin Blake, and kept the position until 2003. She has written over 50 children's books and was awarded an OBE in 2003.

She is the author of 'Alias Madame Doubtfire', which was made into the 1993 film Mrs Doubtfire which starred Robin Williams as the character Daniel Hillard, who dresses up to become a nanny called Mrs Doubtfire so that he can continue to see his children during his and his wife's divorce.

She has written for young children, middle children, older children and also adults. She has won numerous awards including the Carnegie Medalamd the Red House Children's Book Award, which she received in 2004 for her book 'The More The Merrier'.
