The Saint Thomas Parish is situated towards the south of Belfast in Northern Ireland. It is also a portion of the church of Ireland, which is a component of the Church of the world-wide Anglican Communion.

The St Thomas Church is positioned towards the Rectory at the end of Englantine Avenue close to Lisburn Road, Which is one of Belfast core arterial routes. The Parish stretches from Elmwood Avenue to Adelaide Park, and also from Malone Road to Lisburn Road.

The portion of Belfast which is south of Queen's University in between Malone and Lisburn road is called 'Malone Ridge'. This region went under quick expansion during the mid 19th century and developed into an affluent stylish suburb of detached villas and impressive terraces. According to stats, in the year 1887, there were around seventeen hundred people belonging to a church which could hold only seven hundred and ten.
