There are some tuck point blades that reputedly offer great grinding speeds are very affordable prices. These are eight wafer style blades. They have excellent stream lined blade thickness, which is why they have no problem at all effectively removing mortar in astoundingly half of the time an average tuck blade can. These bladders can be used with the help of almost any right angle grinders.

Another suggestion that works pretty well when you want to remove the mortar from old bricks is simply to use a thin bladed spatula and a medium sized hammer. If you work carefully then you can be assured that very few of these delightful old bricks will break. A useful thing to do would be to soften the mortar first by generously applying some vinegar and water on it overnight before tackling it the next morning.
