Tears fall when a person cries. The word tears is used to refer to the liquid which is produced by the process of lacrimation of the human body. The purposes of shedding tears are to clean the eyes and to grease them. The word lacrimation is the scientific term which is generally used to refer to the action of crying. A person cries when he or she is either sad or in pain.

There are three types of tears. The three types of tears are the basal tears, the reflex tears and the crying or weeping or physic tears. The basal tears nourish and continually keep the corneas of the eyes wet. The reflex tears are those tears which fall when foreign particles such as the vapours of onions, tear gas or pepper spray irritate the eyes. When a person is in pain or depressed or in emotional stress, he or she cries or weeps or sheds physic tears.

I feel there is one MORE kind of TEARS. These are known as TEARS of HAPPINESS. When you become OVERWHELMED with happiness, yours tears would start.
