What Is A Subtropical Region?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A subtropical region refers to the zones of the Earth that are immediately to the north and south of the tropic zones, bounded by the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. They are at latitude of 23.5 degrees north and south. The subtropical region loosely lies in a range between 23.5 and 35 degrees. These areas usually experience very warm to hot summers. The winters are non tropical though. The air temperature of a subtropical region does not go below the freezing point (0 degrees). For example southern Florida, northern India, coastal California, coastal South Africa and coastal Australia fall under subtropical region. Subtropical cities include Brisbane, Sydney, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Athens and New Delhi. Subtropical regions usually do not have distinctly dry or wet seasons.
