Can I Use Hard Drive From Computer As A External Hard Drive?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

You can get external hard drive enclosures from places like Radio Shack and CompUSA (TigerDirect here in Florida) that allow you to use the old drive externally. These enclosures will not let you run an operating system. The drive must be directly connected to the motherboard through a SATA or IDE cable in order to run the operating system. They do make great slave drives, however, and it is a good way to keep all of your data intact.
