What Kind Of Climate Does Finland Have?

    The Republic of Finland is one of the Nordic countries, located in Northern Europe. Finland has a total population of more that five million people the total area of Finland is around 330,000 kilometers, which make it one of the least populated places in the world.

    The area of Southern Finland basically has a Northern temperate climate. In the Province of Lapland there is subarctic climate, it is basically cold, at times there is severe winter and moderately warm summers. Since Finland is near the Atlantic region is it continuously kept warm by the Gulf Stream, hence this explains the strange warm climate in spite of the absolute latitude. Finland is bordered by Sweden in the west, Russia to the east, Norway to the north where as Estonia lies towards the south.
