What Is Judicial Process And Its Scope?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

In a democratic form of government the judiciary forms part of one of the three main branches of authority the other being the legislative and the executive. The judiciary also forms a very visible part of the government. Laws are generally made by the legislative arm and it is the judiciary that enforces or interprets these laws. A judicial process is further divided into civil and criminal branches of law dealing with the nature of the offence.

Courts generally exist in a tier system; those that exist on the local level form the lowest level, and then come state level courts and finally supreme courts.

The higher level courts generally hear cases beyond the scope of the lower level and act as courts of appeal. In the United States there are also central or federal courts which hear matters such as those dealing with civil rights violations.
