 What wild animals are there to see at Tasmania

 Tasmania was home to a large number of wild animals and birds. Few of them have become extinct now, however diverse variety of wild animals is still found in Tasmania. Few of them are given here.

Tasmanian Devils are small sized animals but are sturdy and strong. They can climb on trees,run fast and they are a proficient swimmer too.

Platypus are egg laying animals but they give milk to their young ones. They have webbed feet and a beak like a duck. Their body is covered with fur.

A Wombat is like a small bear. Like a Kangaroo, a female Wombat also keeps its young ones in a pouch attached to its body. They live in burrows and they usually come to graze in the night .

Koalas have thick fur, no tail and large ears and they live on trees.

Tasmanian snakes are considered to be the most dangerous wild animals of the island. Tiger snakes are very poisonous. They usually keep out of people's way but when cornered they become threatening .

Beside these masked owls, squirrels, frogs,Golden Possums, Wallabies, Emu and a number of colorful birds are also found in Tasmania.
