    World War II was basically a global war that included most of the nations of the world. These nations were divided into two groups based on their alliances with the major powers of that time.

    The two blocks or groups in this war were called Allies and Axis. The major powers in the Allied forces were the British Empire, United States and USSR. These main powers were joined by Poland, Australia, France, New Zealand, Nepal, South Africa, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Greece, Yugoslavia, Mongolia, Panama, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua, China, Philippine, Guatemala, Cuba, Mexico, Ethiopia, Liberia, Iraq, Italy, Romania, Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon etc.

    On the Axis Front, the major powers were Germany, Italy and Japan. They were joined in by Iraq, Finland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Thailand. However, most of these nations left the axis powers as the war proceeded. The World War II resulted in the defeat of the Axis Powers.
