Selsey is an English seaside city, which is approximately 11 kilometers (7miles) south of Chichester, West Sussex. It is situated at the southernmost point of the Manhood Peninsula. This peninsula is a small island that is more or less cut off from the main area of Sussex by the sea. It is surrounded by Bracklesham Bay to its west, Broad Rife (rife being the local word for stream or creek) to its north, Pagham Harbour to its east and Selsey Bill to its south where it ends. The sea is specially known for the Owers rocks and Mixon rocks which are found below the sea.
The name Selsey comes from the words "Seal Island". Some of the most famous personalities are Sir Patrick Moore who was born in 1968. Selsey has two momentous achievements: the B2145 road into the town is the busiest B-road in the United Kingdom, the major park in Europe is the West Sands Caravan Park.
