Why Won't My Truck Start?

I replaced my bad battery and my truck, a 2001 Ford F-150, started right up and ran fine. I shut it off and now when I turn the key it just makes a single click and doesnt start. I checked the wires going to the starter and they are tight and the starter bolts are tight. Do I have a bad starter? Has anyone experienced this problem?

The starter could be bad or it could be the terminal on the battery post itself. Did you clean the inside of the terminal where it goes on the battery post? Check that and also check to make sure the cable going into the terminal is making good connection. Also there may be a solenoid in line with the cable that can be bad. You can jump across the solenoid with a wire or 2 screw drivers on the terminal connections and see if it is bad or making connection.
