Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A band saw is a type of saw that serves as an important tool in the following processes – wood working, metal working and many other materials. The term 'band saw' is derived from the blade, which is composed of a narrow band made up of toothed metal. The band is positioned on two wheels which are located in the same vertical plane having a gap between them. Band saws are generally most effective to cut uneven shapes. The radius of the curve which can be cut on a given saw is dependant on how wide the band is.

There are different types of band saw, every type also having varieties in its own segment, depending on the usage. For example, metal cutting band saw can be found having both vertical and horizontal patterns. They can be manual as well as automatic.
