    Liverpool basically is a city and a metropolitan borough situated in North West England. It is placed towards the eastern side of Mersey Estuary. Constructed diagonally on a ridge of hills which go up to an altitude of two hundred and thirty feet above sea level at Everton hill.

    The regions urban areas directly fall into Bootle and Crosby in Sefton towards the north, and Huyton Dovecot and Prescot in Knowsley towards the east. It comes across Wallasey and Birkenhead at the river Mersey to the west.

    Liverpool is administrated by the Liverpool City council which is one of the five committees inside the Metropolitan county of Merseyside. It is also one of England's central cities with a total population of 441,447 according to the census conducted in the year 2002.
