    Oregano is extremely high in antioxidants, which means that it has cancer fighting qualities.  It helps stave off the physical effects of ageing, such as wrinkles.  According to "The Perricone Promise," by Dr. Nicholas Perricone, oregano's antioxidant capacity is many times greater than that of apples, oranges, or blueberries.

    High in thymol and carvacrol, oregano inhibits the growth of bacteria.  Add it to food, or use the essential oil in cleaning blends to disinfect your household.

    Oregano is an excellent source of Vitamin A, Calcium, Vitamin B6, and iron.
