What Is "Logan's Run" About?

Answer Question

This science fiction series was first shown on ITV in 1978, and was an import from the USA. Its sources were a novel by William F Nolan and George Clayton, and more famously a 1976 film starring Jenny Agutter and Michael York. It was based on the same premise: in a post-nuclear future (AD 2319) people live happy and comfortable lives in the City of Domes until they reach the age of 30, when they are apparently taken away to some vague "good place." In fact they are killed. When Logan, a police officer played by Gregory Harrison, discovers this, he joins an underground organisation which helps him, and fellow member Jessica (Heather Menzies), to escape. They head for a place called Sanctuary, which may or may not exist, and or joined by an android called Rem. As they flee, they are pursued by Sandmen (police officers) including Logan's former colleagues.
