There are three main manufacturing processes use in global carpet market. First process consists of hand looms for producing carpets. This manufacturing process capable of producing complex patterns and use yarns of different colors. These carpets produced on hand loom normally have maximum value on the global market.

Second manufacturing process consists of tufting machine for producing carpets. These tufting machines use single colored or non colored yarn. In this process non colored yarn carpets will be dyed. The printing or dying of carpet is a separate process. These carpets are cut pile, loop pile or a combination of both cut pile and loop pile. Tufting machines are very fast than looms and produce meters of carpets per hour.

Needlefelt carpets are normally used in hotels. This manufacturing process form unique carpets with very high toughness. These durable carpets are produced by Electrostatic attraction of single artificial fiber.  Some other techniques of manufacturing carpets are Flatweave, hooked rug, knotted pile etc. There are different types of flatweave carpets; dutch, tapestry weave, soumak, Venetian, kilim, ingrain, plain weave etc. Hooked rug carpets generally made as handicrafts.
