The protocol that transmission of voice from one computer to another is over the internet is known as Voice Over Internet Protocol or VOIP with the help of broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analog) phone line. AS computer only deals with digital signals so VoIP convert your voice into a digital signal that travels over the Internet and then covert it to analog signal so that the end user can hear it properly.
