    The London Symphony is one of the finest symphonies that have ever been made. Ralph Vaughan Williams was the composer of it. In the year of 1913, it was composed as well as performed. The London Symphony was a combination of folk melody with modern approaches to harmony and rhythm. It was a highly personal musical style with deep rooted English emotions.

    Ralph Vaughan Williams was a English composer. He was born on 12th of October in the year of 1872 in Gloucestershire, England. In his earlier days he was a student of the Royal College of Music and Cambridge University. Ralph Vaughan also studied music with the German composer Max Bruch in Berlin. He had a great collection of folk songs for his academic work. Later, he did his music with the help of them.

    Ralph Vaughan Williams created nine symphonies. 'Sea Symphony' was composed in the year of 1909 and 'Sinfonia Symphony' was composed in the year of 1952. 'London Symphony' was composed in 1913. These three are his greatest creations. He also composed some other popular symphonies, such as 'The Lark Ascending' (1914), 'Serenade to Music' (1938). He also wrote some operas, including 'Riders to the sea' in the year of 1936.

    Ralph Vaughan Williams edited 'The English Hymnal' during the years of 1904-1906. The great English composer died on 26th of August in the year of 1958 in London.
