Floods are one of the most widespread and destructive natural disasters occurring due to various reasons like heavy rainfall, damming of rivers, hurricanes and melting of snow. Often floods are sudden and are difficult to predict like for example flash floods. Floods occurring in densely populated urban areas have the capacity to do maximum damage to life and property.
The major effects of floods are destruction of life and property; each year thousands of people lose their lives due to floods and millions are rendered homeless. In areas where there are no measures to predict occurrence of floods and to evacuate people to safety the loss of life and damage to property is maximum.
Flooding cause damage to infrastructure like roads and bridges in urban areas and destroys farmlands in agricultural areas. The sewerage systems are often overwhelmed due to floods resulting in the overflowing of drains. The accumulation of water in pools results in spread of various infectious diseases.

Floods don't only leave people having no place to call home, but it carries along with it dangerous water-borne diseases and kills both animals(including human) and plants. Whoever thought that a fish can never be killed by water thought wrong because flood water can kill those creatures.
Floods mat cause many diseases like bubonic plague ect, it also affects on the growth of soy beans. It may damage buildings structures and people dont know when the walls will break down. Even though it has many bad things it has some good things. One of them is that some crops will grow without irrigation by some days. Another is that new species of fish might come and other will go. Also fishes breed when a flood occurs. Also fresh water wetlands might appear like marshes and swamps.
