Introducing a new pond in your home or your backyard is very attractive. It will also attract birds and mammals. The best way to construct a pond is to choose a place where the level is a little low, plenty of sunshine and far from overhanging trees. The pond should be very shallow. This will allow the animals to easily get in and out of the pond. The digging is the most difficult part and should only be dug about 700 mm. After digging, smooth out the surface and get rid of all the sharp surfaces such as stones. Next thing is to water proof the pond by covering the lining with polythene or butyl lining. You should also protect the deepest part of the whole by covering it with polythene. This will help you to refill the pond without making a mud bath. Add some water plants to make your pond more beautiful.
