Kings Canyon basically is a portion of the Watarrka National Park based in the Northern Territory, Australia. It is placed on the western end of George Gill Range, and is approximately 323 kilometres southwest of Alice Springs, and 1316 Kilometres south of Darwin.

The walls of King Canyon are said to be hundred meters high, with Kings Creek right at the bottom. A portion of the gorge is said to be sacred Aboriginal site and guests are told not to walk away from the walking track.

Due to many tracks present in the central Australian desert, visitors are told not to walk on the tracks in the middle of the day, because that is the time when the temperature is really high and the sun is more direct.
