Hi

I have bought things from ebay, and received them all, but one that was lost in Canada, that was because it wasn't wrapped properly. Other than that, it is a very good site, and trustworthy. Hope this helps, good luck to you.

Yes it is, as long as you sign up for Paypal for purchasing and buying.  Paypal insures your purchases if you don't receive them or if they are sent damaged or misrepresented.

Ebay is generally good, especially since they have strengthened their PayPal guarantee.  But it does help to be careful.  Try to deal with sellers with at least 25 positive feedbacks as a seller, (not just a buyer) and an overall rating of at least 96%.

I did have a bad experience recently when I bought some software on ebay.  I insisted to the seller that he was to provide a genuine Microsoft distribution disk with a legitimate serial number, but what I got was a home-made CD.  I reported him to Microsoft and Paypal, and eventually got my money back, but I was required to return the bogus CD via registered mail at my cost.  There are plenty of legitimate software sellers on ebay, but this one wasn't legit and he got quickly kicked off ebay.

I have only purchased smaller items off eBay, software CD-ROMS in jewel case for example.  For me, bidding on anything would have been a waste of time and money.  It is kind of cool to browse...

Like i was told by a women that sells on ebay you have to watch yourself by only dealing with other sellers with high sales and ratings.in other words do not deal with new sellers unless you have insurance/insurances through ebay or by your pay pal account and even with the account(your using) credit card like american express that insures purchases...so the best thing is to study up on all the ins and outs of dealing  on ebay...i however after talking with the lady mentioned before bought my 1994 blazer off ebay( about 8 years ago and got a excellant(bill and teds excellant adventures) vehicle for about 4 k less than here where i live....now on electronics, i would want through email and writing(letters if possible) proof of the working order of the item being purchased . To have accountability  in case the item is broken/damaged either in transit or before being shipped... This way you can get rapid response from ebay stopping or debiting(get your monies back for you) the account of the seller in case it does not work out like you thought...so the short of it is -it does work very well but you have to be aware of the possible problems and how to fix them.... Like i said before i had no problems at all with ebay(personally) but my sister who has her own account on ebay says she has problems  every once in a while but ebay is excellant at taking care of both the seller and buyer in case of disputes...so i suggest trying it and see what you think but take precautions(account protection/insurance)..

Think about it this way. There are good people and there are bad people in the world. It is the same way with ebay. There are those who sell to make money and are honest about what they are selling, and there are the ones who think that they will make more money by selling an item they don't even have in order to rip people off and steal their money.
