I have someone trying to collect a debt that is over 10 years old is it true that after 7 I am not obligated to pay for it?

No that is not true, when you owe on a credit card it can take up to 45 years to pay off, when you owe on a mortgage it can take up to 30 years, so that proves that if someone is trying to collect on a debt that is over 10 years old, they are still entitled to it. Just be lucky your not paying interest on it !!
