Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Stone Roses are a rock band from England. They were formed near the beginning of the 1980s. It was formed in the city of Manchester by Ian Brown (Vocals) and John Squire (Guitarist).  The Stone Roses were highly influenced by the bands 'The Sex Pistols' and 'The Clash', they were also influenced by a local Manchester band called 'Slaughter and the Dogs'. The band released their first single called "So Young/Tell Me". The song was a disaster and it was highly unsuccessful. It was so bad that the band disowned the song.

In their entire career as a band "The Stone Roses" had only released two albums called "The Stone Roses" and "Second Coming". However the band is still known as one of the founding fathers of 'BritPop'.
