What Companion Books Are There For The Harry Potter Series?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are two other books written by J.K. Rowling that are companions to the Harry Potter series. One is 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' and the other is 'Quidditch Through the ages'. Both were written for Comic Relief and have raised £15.7 million.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is written under the pen name of Newt Scamander, who is a wizard. J.K. Rowling used this pen name because Newt is the author of the book in the Potter series. The book contains a large variety of magical creatures with information collected by Newt during his travels. The book is meant to belong to Harry, and contains little messages written by his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and also himself.

Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts, gives an introduction to the book. The book contains classifications for each magical creature by the Ministry of Magic. The classfications state how dangerous the creatures are. Rowling provided her own sketches for the book.

The other book, Quidditch Through the Ages, is written by Kennilworthy Whisp (J.K. Rowling under a pen name), who is a Quidditch expert in the Potter series. Quidditch is a fictional game in the Potter series, and is a sport that is played on broomsticks.
