What Is The Best Road Through Cornwall?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The best road through cornwall just has to be the B3306.  It leads out of St Ives (which is a bit of a tourist hotspot) and towards Lands End.  It is known as the scenic trail, but there are lots of little villages, hamlets and even towns on this route which can be visited throughout the year and if it is not high season, they can offer real peace and tranquility.  High season brings more people and some would say more life, so it kind of depends what you are looking for.

This road is basically a seaside trail, with some stunning views, particularly towards Gurnards Head and if it is clear some days you can even see the Scilly Isles.  There are lots of interesting tea shops, pubs and tourist attractions en route, including Geevor Mine which is one of the last working tin mines in the country and is well worth a visit !  The B3306 may not be the fastest road, but it is a wonderful trip !
