Why Do White People Hair Grow Faster Than Black People's?

Answer Question

well the length of hair depends upon the genetic coding which is inherited from our parents and which determines the length of our hair. So it is not based on the Black or White people it all depends upon the genes.

"White People Hair" does not "grow faster" than Black folks' hair. The texture of hair has as much to do with growth as "genes".

The much-maligned hair type known as "nappy" (not my choice of word, but the one that's most recognizable to most folks).......i.e., 100% kinky type hair, in it's UNPROCESSED state, is the most fragile of ALL the hair types. A good example would be Whoopi Goldberg's hair texture. Most people do not know this.

^^^continued--poor relaxing/weave techniques, poor care, and general miseducation and pressure to be bone-straight are the main reasons that Black hair doesn't grow. Ever seen Black men/women with dreadlocks down to their waist or below? Prime example of how much and how fast "Black" hair can grow with proper care and minimal manipulation. Most people assume Black hair is the "strongest" hair type b/c of its coarseness/wiry texture, when nothing could be farther from the truth.

I agree with both responses above. But fact of the matter is White people's hair and Black people's hair grow at the same rate. But Black people's hair brake off the same amount of hair that they have grown when not taken care of. That's all.

Actually, it doesn't. White people have straighter hair and it looks longer. Blacks hair is curlier but if you pull on it and straighten it out they're the same. Also afro hair is a bit drier than white hair therefore it breaks more. But if it's conditioned right it should grow just fine.

I condition my afro with a natural shampoo it grows just fine. My answer is our hair is puffy and puffy hair grows curly and outward. But all culture hair grows regard less know matter white or black. We africans put all types of toxic grease in our heads to fit in with whites or spanish so there for we cause our hair to grow slow over evolution but if you display your natural hair no added harmful toxis our hair should grow fast.'' Maybe you don't take care of your hair but i know plenty of black people who take care of their hair, and i am one of them my hair is down to my back.So you must be a different kind of African American because most black people i know stay look'in good and take great care of their hair. You may just be part of the 2% of black people who don't who care how they look and DON"T TAKE CARE OF THEIR HAIR!!!!!!One more then you can't spell!!!

Why are people getting offended....when i see tons of black women everyday with dry hair, glue tracks, spritz up and under moisturized, I am learning how to take care of my hair and realized i never knew the proper way to take care of it.  Since i have been moisturizing daily, washing and deep conditioning weekly, and keeping the protein/to moisture in my hair balanced at the age of 30 i have hair like i never had before.  I no longer have what we call naps I now have curls and they are beautiful.  So anyone looking for info about how to grow black hair, wash your hair at least once a week, we have heard myths that dirt makes your hair grow its not true.  Your pores need to be clear.  Another thing is that if you dont do anything except this make sure you do this, DEEP CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION, ALSO MOISTURIZE DAILY.  THEN SEAL HAIR WITH A NATURAL OIL LIKE EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL.  IF YOUR HAIR IS TO LIMP FROM OVER CONDITIONING GIVE YOURSELF A PROTEIN TREATMENT, IF IT IS TO BRITTLE CONDITION WITH A MOISTURE BASED CONDITIONER......ITS A LITTLE MORE TO IT BUT THESE ARE THE BASICS......WANT MORE INFO GO TO FOTKI.COM/VONNIQUE04, OR LONGHAIRDONTCARE.COM, OR BLACKHAIRMEDIA.COM
