Developing a mission statement is a very contrasting thing to do; it is a very easy task and a difficult one as well.

You can say it's difficult because you have to go for each and every finer point so that the statement reflects your desire for your mission and also your expectation. It should be developed in such a way all the goals set in it should look achievable and every one involved in the mission should feel that unless they make sincere effort, they can't achieve their mission.

You can also say that it is easy because it is you who should decide on your mission statement and no external force is there to shove you towards the goal that they are intending for you.
