What Traditions Are In Pakistan?

    Pakistan belongs to one of the most oldest civilizations in the world. I.e The Indus Civilization. The geographic location of Pakistan has been prominent since centuries due to its strategic importance. That is why the traditions and cultures of Pakistan are a mix of Indian, Persian, Arabic, and English cultures.

    Following are some of the main traditions in Pakistan:

    - There are two religious celebrations in the year called Eid. These Eid are celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm. Women decorate their houses and make special dishes for this occasion. Men and Women both wear new clothes and Women also ornament their hands and feet with Henna.

    - Weddings are also a key traditional picture of Pakistan. The Bride no matter which part of the country she is from, is put to rest many days before the wedding. She does no chores and sits surrounded with friends and family. The celebrations start at least a week before the actual D -Day. Women gather at the Bride's house and play Dholki and sing songs.

    - There are at least three days of formal celebrations of a wedding which are Mehndi, Barat and Walima. Mehndi is the official day for Henna, dancing and singing. On the Barat Day, the Bride is taken by the Groom to their house. And the Walima is a reception from the Groom's side for their own family and the family of the Bride.

    - Basant is also a main tradition of not only Pakistan but the whole sub-continent. This day marks the arrival of Spring in Pakistan by flying Kites.
